Great Good Visit

The Good's have arrived and we're having a grand time! They spent the first few days exercising the train system, and traveled quite a bit. Yesterday I joined them on a boat excursion to Yvoire, France. It was nice. They boys seem to have a good time no matter what we do, so this makes life easy.

Today we're focused on laundry and shopping...these mundane items that must be kept up with to avoid disasters....

Speed Demon Starbucks

Today I put some slicks on Dedi's bike and what a difference!

She stole one of Andrea's lines when she explained to Brenna that she likes her her bike mechanic so much, she married him!

Anyways, with most of our riding being on roads, this made sense.

To try them out, we headed out to Villette again, this time with Brenna joining us. Soon Dedi was but a distant spec ahead of us as she kept powering ahead. Brenna moved well considering her full suspension bike and knobby wheels...but was no match for the "Speed Demon Starbuck!" Not sure where Dedi got this nickname...but she fit it well! Maybe Brenna will be next in line for slick tires, though I doubt it, knowing how much she likes off-road riding.

The highlight of our ride was at a tricky road crossing, where a high speed cyclist was passing us...I mentioned to Dedi, "Just follow his line!" Well as he blazed past, Dedi tucked in and hung with him for a good 5km. It was quite the sight for the few minutes Brenna and I were able to keep them in view...

Dedi later confided..."That was sooo much fun!"

Is winter really behind us?

Nice and sunny. Cold and rainy. Keeps changing back and forth, but I think it's finally safe to put the winter coats in storage.

Dedi and I got in another ride in yesterday. Rode out to the vineyards in Villette and then stopped for refreshments at a nice restaurant on the lake.

Topped the day off with a rental movie: Borat...pretty extreme (makes you cringe) but hard to keep from laughing.

Today looks like another beautiful day. Got some errands to run but hope to find time to play!
